Johann-Ludwig (+1811)
was officially a son of Adam-Gottlieb of Wallmoden (+1752) from the ancient
noble family of Wallmoden [10: Neue Folge; Band V; t.166] [4: tome III; p.95,
97] (N.1).
In 1781, the
Roman Emperor granted Johann-Ludwig of Wallmoden (+1811) the title of
Count [8: Band 5; p.182].
In 1782,
Johann-Ludwig bought the Imperial immediate Lordship of Gimborn-Neustadt
from the Princes of Schwarzenberg.
In 1783,
Johann-Ludwig received the status of Imperial Estate when he was accepted
to the College of Counts of Westphalia.
In 1783, by the grant
of the Roman Emperor the name of the House was legally changed to
Wallmoden-Gimborn [8: Band 5; p.182].
In July 1806,
the Count of Wallmoden-Gimborn lost his status of Imperial immediate
ruler when all of his possessions were mediatized by the Confederation of
the Rhine Act [2: p.161].
In 1819, the Count of
Wallmoden sold Gimborn-Neustadt to the King of Prussia [4: tome III;
p.95].
In 1883, the
House of Wallmoden-Gimborn became extinct in the male line with the death
of Count Karl-August-Ludwig, a son of Count Johann-Ludwig
(+1811).
Notes:
1. Count Johann-Ludwig
of Wallmoden-Gimborn (+1811) was believed to be an illegitimate son of King
George II of Great Britain by his mistress Amalie-Sophie-Marianne of Wendt
(+1765), but was not acknowledged as such. Amalie-Sophie-Marianne was legally
married to Adam-Gottlieb of Wallmoden.
